Firefighters are currently battling a fast-moving brush fire near the Cajon Pass. Cal Fire's Cathey Mattingly says crews are hoping to get the fire out before temperatures get any higher.
"Currently our acreage is at 100 acres. We're still zero percent containment, we're working very hard to increase that number. We do have structures threatened and we have not had any structures destroyed," Mattingly said.
Some of the lanes on the northbound side of the freeway have been shut down as crews battle the fire.
The Box Fire was sparked this morning by a truck that burst into flames near Kenwood Drive according to the CHP. Deputies say residents of Devore Heights should watch for evacuation notices.
