A man who called himself a military veteran and says he was disgruntled with the Veterans Affairs system strapped fireworks to his chest and lit himself on fire Tuesday in front of the Georgia Capital.
The man, 58, identified himself to law officers as an Air Force veteran, the Department of Public Safety said.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the man parked his car on the side of the Capitol Tuesday morning. He then walked toward the west entrance of the building and lit himself on fire.
Law officers have not provided details about the man's complaints about the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, saying only that he is disgruntled with the system.
On June 6, President Donald Trump signed legislation aimed at allowing veterans more freedom to see doctors outside the system in an attempt to reduce wait times and improve care.
No other injuries were reported.
