Antonio Villaraigosa's Dreams Have Been Crushed

Former Los Angeles mayor, Antonio R. Villaraigosa, has done some reflection on his loss in the primary election earlier this month and feels that his hopes and dreams have truly been crushed.

The Democrat said wealthy voters rejected his message and working class voters failed to turn out.

“My message resonated in areas where people are struggling — it didn’t resonate where people are doing well,” Mr. Villaraigosa said. “I understand Latinos voted two to one for me. They just didn’t come out in big numbers.”

Villaraigosa lost to Gavin Newsom, who lead the polls, and John Cox. Cox and Newsom will battle it out on the November ballot.
