LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 31-year-old man suspected in the stabbing deaths of two Vietnamese tourists at the Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas was arrested today following a short Southern California pursuit by the FBI's Los Angeles-based Fugitive Task Force and Chino police.
Julius Trotter of Chino was taken into custody about 10:45 a.m. near 4317 Lugo Ave. following a three-mile chase, according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller and San Bernardino County jail records.
The two victims were found dead June 1 in their hotel room. The female victim was identified by the Clark County coroner's office as 38-year-old Sang Boi Nghia. The Las Vegas Review-Journal identified the male victim as 30- year-old Khuong Ba Le Nguyen. The coroner's office would not confirm the man's identity and age until relatives were notified.
The FBI's task force located Trotter at a house in the 13100 block of Derby Avenue in Chino, according to law enforcement sources.
Trotter allegedly fled the house in a vehicle with the FBI in pursuit. Chino police were called for assistance and after a short pursuit Trotter was taken into custody, Eimiller said. He was being held withheld bail in San Bernardino County's West Valley Detention Center pending the arrival of detectives from Las Vegas and an extradition hearing.
According to jail records, Trotter was also booked on a resisting arrest count which carries with it a bail of $50,000.
The victims were part of a tour group, and there were unconfirmed reports the tour group traveled to Las Vegas from Los Angeles.
The FBI's Fugitive Task Force also includes Los Angeles police and California Highway Patrol officers, Eimiller said.
