Police Clear Chatsworth Campus After Phone Threat

CHATSWORTH (CNS) - Police today searched the Chatsworth Charter High School campus after a threat was received, and said they found ``no evidence of a credible threat.''

Authorities went to the school in the 10000 block of Lurline Avenue after the threat was received by phone about 10:15 a.m., and the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison.

``There is no report of shots fired or (of) an active shooter incident,'' police said in a statement.

About two hours later, the Los Angeles Unified School District police department said the safety sweep of the campus had been completed, and students would be dismissed for the day at 12:45 p.m. via the Lemarsh Street exit.
