Protesters chanted "Say no to the Gun show" outside Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego Saturday as the gun debate rages on amid another school shooting, this time at Santa Fe High School in Texas on Friday. The gunman killed ten people and injured another 13.
Paula McCormack was one of the protesters outside of the Del Mar Fairgrounds where the Crossroads of the West Gun Show was being held. She says the high school students killed in Texas on Friday were just another example of America's gun culture.
"And those children who will not be graduating, who will not have a life, because we can't get rid of dangerous weapons," said McCormack.
Protesters say gun shows like the one in San Diego promote violence that people have seen happen too many times. However, gun enthusiasists insist that law-abiding gun owners aren't the problem, pointing to California's strict laws on guns.
"Guns is parts of the Second Amendment, it's a natural right people have. So, it stands to reason there would be no reason why there would be a show for it," Tony Mag, a gun rights supporter said.
Protesters at the gun show held signs with the names and ages of the victims killed in the school shooting in Parkland, Florida back on February 14th.
