Ronan Farrow Rips Ousted Attorney General Over 'Role-Playing' Claim

Ronan Farrow blasted New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for saying he was only "role-playing" when he allegedly slapped several women.

“I just want to relate the message of one of these women — and it was a shared sentiment among this group — that this was not role-playing, that this was not ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’ It wasn’t in a gray area at all,” Farrow told CNN Tuesday.

“This was activity that happened, in many cases, fully clothed, outside of a sexual context, during arguments,” he added. “In one case, a woman wasn’t even in a relationship at all with him.”

Schneiderman resigned on Monday three hours after an article was published in the New Yorker alleging that the New York attorney general choked and abused women who were working for him.

“In the privacy of intimate relationships, I have engaged in role-playing and other consensual sexual activity. I have not assaulted anyone. I have never engaged in non-consensual sex, which is a line I would not cross,” Schneiderman wrote Monday night.

Farrow went on to point out that the Attorney General had a responsibility to the truth and was especially hypocritical given his vocal support for the #MeToo movement and advocate against domestic violence.

“This is an individual who was a very public champion of women’s rights, who in fact introduced anti-choking legislation,” Farrow said. “And he was, according to multiple women in this story, choking them, among other things.”
