More than 150 asylum-seeking Central Americans who caravanned to Tijuana are now north of the U.S. border. Even though they have officially requested asylum, attorneys say the odds are stacked against them and they say the migrants may need things that are not possible to get.
Immigration attorney Andrew Nietor says the Central American refugees will probably have to prove their government is unwilling or unable to control gang or cartel violence. He says refugees must also prove that their entire country is unsafe and gripped by violence. Nietor says statistics show 75-percent of Central American asylum applicants will have their applications denied.
