SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 37-year-old man died while in Orange County Jail this week, a sheriff's spokeswoman said today. The inmate, whose name was not released, was arrested Monday by Tustin police and booked on suspicion of robbery, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Dept.
The man was ``uncooperative'' during his booking, Braun said. As deputies attempted to get him under control he lost consciousness, she said.
The inmate was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Braun said. The Orange County District Attorney's Office will investigate, which is routine for in-custody deaths.
