Justice has finally come for Bill Cosby.
The comedian once known as 'America's Dad' was convicted on three counts by a jury in Pennsylvania Thursday afternoon following dozens of accusations by women who accused Cosby of sexual assault.
Deliberating for around 13 hours, the panel of seven men and five women found Cosby guilty for drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand, a former Temple university employee.
The 80-year-old faces up to ten years in prison and fines of $25,000 for each count. Philly.com reports that Cosby remained stone faced during the reading of the verdict, looking sullen.
“This has been an extraordinarily difficult case,” Judge Steven T. O’Neill told the jurors, Montgomery County residents who had been sequestered most of the month. “You have sacrificed much but you have sacrificed it in service to this country, this county and this town. And that is important.”
Cosby is set to be sentenced at a later date, but the comedian remains free on bail, confined at his Chenltenham home unless he's approved to go somewhere else. At one point, while prosecutors argued that Cosby's bail should be revoked because of his wealth and could flee, the comedian was reported heard to yell, almost to himself, "He doesn’t have a plane, you asshole.”
He will also have to undergo an assessment so authorities can determine if the entertainer must register as a violent sexual predator.
Cosby's lead lawyer, Tom Mesereau vowed to appeal the verdict saying that the fight "is not over."
