#TechTalk Breaks Down YouTube Changes & Data Sharing

Nasim Aghdam, the woman that shot and injured three people before killing herself at YouTube Headquarters on Tuesday, was angry with the company after her videos began receiving fewer views.

Aghdam had about 30,000 subscribers and her videos had been viewed about 9 million times, but she felt that the growth of those statistics had slowed lately.

She isn't the only contributor that has noticed this.

In fact, YouTube has recently changed some of its operation policies, which limited and changed where ads were placed and who's videos were connected to them.

Remember that little bit of data sharing that Facebook did with Cambridge Analytica?  You know, the one where information on 50 million users was shared?

Well, it turns out that it may have been more like 87 million users.  Whoopsies...

Now, since then, Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have made promises and changes to help better protect their users (well, at least those that were left after nearly 2 billion abandoned the social media).

Facebook now limits advertisers' ability to target people and is set to hire 5,000 more people to work on security and content review.

Amazon is not only the largest online retailer, but they also push out content, run a cloud platform, and allow you to interact through a personal assistant.
