Pacific Gas and Electric is introducing a comprehensive Community Wildfire Safety Program. The program will bolster wildfire prevention and emergency response efforts in addition to working with customers and first responders to put in place new and enhanced safety measures. The program will also harden the electric system to help reduce wildfire threats and keep customers safe.
PG&E said years of drought, extreme heat and millions of dead trees have created a "new normal" for California. That new normal means even more must be done to strengthen the safety and resilience of the state's energy infrastructure.
