Santa Barbara County authorities are warning residents about a flurry of fake fliers have been circulating in the area after a recent storm.
The fliers appear official and explain that "land technicians" will be conducting ground stability tests due to the risks of mudslides from the rain. It states that "Due to a high volume of rain pour. We are under high risk of possibly mudslides. Our team of land technicians are conducting ground stability testing."
Santa Baraba County tweeted that the fliers were not official and that anyone who encounters someone trying to get onto property to dial 911. Police say they've searched the area for a suspect, but have so far not found anyone.
