On Tuesday a judge released Daniel Panico and Mona Kirk from jail on their own recognizance. The release comes five days after the couple was arrested after a deputy found their three children living in a plywood shack.
Friends and supporters wore red paper hearts affixed to their clothing in a show of solidarity with the couple and waiting outside the courthouse. They carried signs showing love for the family. One read 'BEING HOMELESS IS NOT A CRIME'.
