According to the LA Times, supporters of the release of Marine Andrew Tahmooressi are asking for the White House to get involved and respond to the situation.

Jill Tahmooressi started a petition on the White House website after her son was put in a Mexican jail.  The White House has pledged to respond to any petition that gets more than 100,000 signatures in a one-month span.  The petition now has about 123,000 signatures, but no response yet from the White House.

Tahmooressi remains in a federal prison outside Tecate. Family and supporters say he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and had moved to San Diego to get treatment at the Veterans Affairs hospital in La Jolla.
