According to the SGV Tribune, LA's transportation agency and the state Senate are working together to make permanent some car pool lanes turned into toll lanes, as well as open the door for more toll lane projects.

The Federal Highway Administration published a report saying that the Express Lanes on the 10 and 110 freeways are accomplishing their goals.  The report also recommends that the toll lanes become permanent fixtures.

Metro and Caltrans are also thinking of adding pay lanes on the 10 Freeway in San Bernardino County and changing the car-pool lanes on the 405 Freeway to toll lanes — including those being built in the Sepulveda Pass .
