Pedestrian Struck and Killed While Running Across Harbor Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A pedestrian was struck and killed while running across the southbound Harbor Freeway in South Los Angeles, authorities said today.

The crash was reported at 10:06 p.m. Monday at the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A male who claimed to have struck the pedestrian with a white Mercedes-Benz told the CHP the pedestrian was running across the freeway.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 10:43 p.m. shutting down all southbound lanes of the Harbor Freeway near the crash, with traffic diverted into express lanes and onto the eastbound Glenn Anderson Freeway.

The lanes were reopened about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
