Fire in Downtown L.A. Apartment Quickly Extinguished

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A woman suffered smoke inhalation in a kitchen fire on the seventh floor of an apartment building in downtown Los Angeles this morning.

Firefighters responded to 451 S. Main St., near Fifth Street, about 4:35 a.m. and discovered the fire in one unit of the 12-story Rosslyn Lofts. The flames were held in check by a fire sprinkler and quickly extinguished by the first firefighters on scene, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The woman was taken to a hospital by LAFD paramedics in fair condition, Humphrey said.
