President Donald Trump's lawyers would like to get almost $800,000 from porn actress Stormy Daniels for her failed defamation suit against the president to cover lawyers' fees and penalties.
"You can't just pick a number out of thin air in an effort to put my client under Donald Trump's thumb and intimidate her," said attorney Michael Avenatti.
Daniels claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and this year, she sued Trump to break a non-disclosure agreement she signed prior to the 2016 elections.
She claims Trump paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about the alleged affair, an event that Trump denies.
However, the president does not deny the payment to Daniels.
