Fire Map And Updated List Of Evacuation Areas For Woolsey, Hill Fires

Brush fires ignited in California on Thursday afternoon near the Los Angeles and Ventura county border. The 'Hill Fire' broke out in an area of Hill Canyon in Santa Rosa Valley, and the 'Woolsey Fire' ignited just 20 minutes later in Rocketdyne, an area south of the City of Simi Valley.

As the fires quickly burned toward Malibu on Friday morning, the city sent out this alert:

“Fire is now burning out of control and heading into populated areas of Malibu. All residents must evacuate immediately.” 

Below is an updated list of the evacuation areas as well as shelters:

Mandatory Evacuations:

  • Bell Canyon – All Areas
  • Point Mugu Naval Base
  • Camarillo Springs – All areas
  • Vallecito Trailer Park – All areas
  • California State University Channel Islands – All areas
  • Dos Vientos – All areas outlined on map below
  • South Coast – All areas outlined on map below
  • Oak Park – entire community
  • Thousand Oaks – T.O. Blvd north to Sunset Hills, from Oak Park west to Highway 23
  • West of Highway 23 – south of E. Olsen Road, north of Pederson Rd.
  • South of Bard Lake,  east of Highway 23
  • South of Highway 101, east of Reino Rd., north of Potrero Rd., east to the L.A./Ventura County line

Voluntary Evacuations

  • Simi Valley – Long Canyon, Bridal Path, Wood Ranch – All areas outlined on map below

    • No animals accepted
