Remote-Controlled Model Plane Crashes, Ignites Brush Fire in Riverside

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - A remote-controlled model airplane crashed and ignited a 3 1/2-acre fire that spread into the Hidden Valley Wildlife Reserve in Riverside today, authorities said. The blaze started about 11 a.m. when the model plane lost power and crashed near an airfield at the Corona RC Club, 11401 Arlington Ave., setting fire to some grass, according to the Riverside Fire Department. 

Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 40 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
