Early this morning, an off-duty sheriff's deputy was violently attacked while leaving his home in East Los Angeles, according to authorities. The officer was approached near 1st and Indiana streets where he was stabbed multiple times by an unknown assailant.
There are currently no details on what exactly transpired leading up to the incident. Authorities are currently conducting a search to locate the suspect. ABC7 reported the assailant appeared to be in his 20's wearing a hoodie and tan shorts. No further description has been provided.
The officer has suffered a few lacerations on his arm but is expected to be okay.
