(Hollywood, CA)  --  A Memphis rap artist is in critical condition after being shot in Hollywood.  Police say the gunfire erupted early this afternoon outside Loews Hollywood Hotel on Highland Avenue just north of Hollywood Boulevard.

The victim was Young Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Thornton, Junior.  He reportedly got into a fight with three men and was thrown to the ground as one of them opened fire, hitting him multiple times.  Police say they have one person in custody, but it's unclear if it was the suspected shooter.  Young Dolph had released an album in April called "Bulletproof," and his SUV was riddled with 100 bullets earlier this year while he performed in Charlotte, North Carolina.
