AFL-CIO Leader Steps Down From Trump Manufacturing Council

The president of the union group AFL-CIO is the latest business leader to resign from President Donald Trump's manufacturing advisory board.  Richard Trumka explained in a statement that he "cannot sit on a council for a President that tolerates bigotry and domestic terrorism."  He cited President Trump's remarks blaming "both sides" at a white nationalist rally in Virginia for the deadly violence there over the weekend.  He said yesterday's remarks negated what he called Trump's "forced remarks" Monday condemning the KKK and neo-Nazis.

The CEOs of Merck, Intel, Under Armour and the Alliance for American Manufacturing have also resigned from the council.
