The United States Postal Service plans to release almost two dozen stamps dedicated to endangered species in the US.
The new stamps will be released sometime next year to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Endangered Species Act; the legislation that established protections for more than 1,300 endangered animal and plant life.
The agency says it used animal images from photographer Joe Sartore’s “Photo Ark,” which features photos of more than 13,400 animal species.
The stamps will be first-class Forever stamps, now worth 60 cents a piece, however by the time these roll out next year, the price will go up to 63 cents.
