New changes are in the horizon over at the popular specialty coffee retailer, Starbucks!
- Customers will be seeing “nugget ice” in their beverages, as the new ice pieces will be smaller than their current ice cubes.
- The reason? Since the company’s iced handcrafted drinks make up “about 75% of its sales”, the decision to change the ice option comes as the new ice machines will use less water and will be “rolling out to all its stores over the next several years.”
- New Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan wants to bring in new equipment as the [company] also "has a goal of cutting its water usage in half by 2030".
