Fox News has parted ways with broadcaster Tucker Carlson in an unexpected decision.
The network announced in a statement released Monday that the two sides had "agreed to part ways" and that Carlson's final broadcast was last Friday, April 21st, which closed with Carlson telling viewers, "We'll see you Monday."
The reason for the breakup is unknown, but Fox News agreed to a nearly $800 million settlement in the Dominion voting systems slander case last week.
According to the network, he will be replaced by Fox News Tonight, "as an interim show helmed by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named", the network says. Carlson has yet to make a public statement on his leaving.
