The White House announced on Monday that several U.S. government employees are victims of spyware.
- At least 50 employees have had their smartphones compromised by commercial spyware.
- The spyware is said to be able to track the activities of those affected.
- An anonymous source from the White House has said in a statement that these employees work in “at least 10 countries on multiple continents.”
- “Our efforts to identify additional targeted personnel continue, and we obviously cannot rule out even more instances,” the official said to NBC News.
