Musk Cites Whistleblower As More Reason to Exit Twitter Deal

The legal team for Elon Musk has shared that a whistleblower from Twitter is cause for the end of Musk's deal to buy the social media platform.

  • Musk was set to buy Twitter for $44 billion.
  • Allegations from the whistleblower claim that Twitter is not compliant with a 2011 consent order from the Federal Trade Commission to increase security on the site and is vulnerable to security hacks by foreign governments.
  • “These allegations, if true, demonstrate that Twitter has breached the following provisions of the Merger Agreement, thereby giving the Musk Parties the right to terminate the Merger Agreement,” wrote Musk’s lawyers in the SEC filing.
  • Do you think these are the reasons Elon Musk is backing out of the deal? Do you use Twitter?
