- An American tourist has been rescued after falling into an Italian volcano, authorities say.
- The unidentified 23-year-old was reportedly taking a selfie at the summit of Mount Vesuvius on Saturday when his phone slipped out of his hand and fell into the crater, according to Naples officials. When he attempted to retrieve it, he fell into the mouth of the volcano. A rescue helicopter had to be brought it to lift the man to safety, Italian media reports.
- Although the American managed to escape with only minor injuries, he's not getting off so easy with Italian law enforcement officials. Because he attempted to take the selfie in a restricted area, he's now facing trespassing charges, police say.
