Rejoice! Miniature Horses Can Still Fly As Service Animals...

The Department of Transportation has announced that miniature horses will still be allowed on airplanes as service animals.

The agency was reviewing its service animal policies after complaints of passengers abusing guidelines for emotional support animals... But in an update released last week, the DOT released a final statement, making it clear that "commonly recognized service animals" will be permitted.

That includes dogs, cats, AND miniature horses.

“After reviewing the comments on this issue, we believe that it would be in the public interest and within our discretionary authority to prioritize ensuring that the most commonly recognized service animals (i.e., dogs, cats, and miniature horses) are accepted for transport,” the statement read.

However, airlines will not be required to transport other animals including "snakes, other reptiles, ferrets, rodents, and spiders".

Have you ever shared an airplane with a miniature horse?!
