Prisoner Climbs On Top of Police Car While Driving Down Highway

What the H is this guy doing? It's just so dangerous.

Taylor County Sheriff's were taking Martin Estrada, 31, from a mental health facility in Wichita Falls to Ailene, Texas about two hours away.

Estrada wanted out and he wasn't kidding. This guy wriggled out of his handcuffs, broke the window and climbed out of the patrol car and onto the roof as it drove down highway. Yikes! Highway 277 in Archer county - anyone???

According to officials, Estrada demanded that the deputy stop the car, but the deputy continued driving and called for backup.

The deputy pulled over when Wichita County deputies arrived, and you guessed it Estrada allegedly tried to flee on foot and had to be subdued with a stun gun. Ouch! They were able to Estrada back to Ailene without incident.

CAUGHT ON TAPE

Jason and Jennifer Mustain, of Alpine, were on the last leg of a very long drive home from Michigan when this patrol car passed them on you guessed it Highway 277.  And something seemed odd.

Jason said

“Something doesn't look right with that car. It looks like the back door is open.”

Estrada was wanted in Taylor County for insufficient bond on a variety of charges including

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Robbery

KTXS reports -Estrada is currently being held on nearly $700,000 bond.
