Walter Carr was all set to begin his new job with a moving company when his car broke down the night before...
But rather than call off, Carr decided he would just leave his house at midnight and walk - 20 miles, just to get to work on time.
Carr says he walked over 14 miles when police picked him up at 4 a.m., and he ended up being the first to arrive.
After the story went viral on Facebook, the CEO of the company traveled to Alabama and handed Carr the keys to a 2014 Ford Escape, which was the CEO's personal car.
Carr, who is a college student that moved to Alabama after losing his home in Hurricane Katrina, says he hopes his story inspires others.
He also admits that his shoes were "killing him" that day.
A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help support him.
