Mumbai's most polluted beach got a makeover after one man encouraged his community to clean up and take action. Afroz Shah, was honored with the United Nation’s Champions of the Earth award after he launched an effort for the citizens of Mumbai to take part in the worlds largest beach clean up. 300 volunteers and a team from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation worked on the beach tirelessly for 85 weeks. Together they picked up 5,000 tonnes of rubbish and plastic.
