Martensen Elementary in Wheat Ridge, CO. has officially been dedicated as a training facility for first responders'. The building’s new name honors former Columbine High School principal, Frank DeAngelis, who led the high school through the 1999 shooting that killed 15 including the two shooters.
Martensen sat empty for two years due to budget cuts. Now the building offers a one-of-a-kind authentic environment for first responders to train with active school-shooter simulations. This is where Bellio attended elementary school...true story.
