Jack Teixeira the national guardsman accused of leaking top-secret information was in a Boston court today and has been charged with unauthorized detention and transmission of national defense information and unauthorized removal of classified information and defense materials. If found guilty on both charges Teixeira could spend up to 15 years in prison. The 21-year-old national guardsman has been accused of leaking tons of top-secret documents from the Pentagon to a discord group he belonged to. He allegedly leaked info about the war in Ukraine and surveillance information gathered on U.S. allies Israel and South Korea.
Teixeira was arrested by federal agents outside of his home in North Dighton Massachusetts. He will remain in custody at least until a detention hearing is held next Wednesday.
