The Los Angeles City Council gathered in person on Tuesday for the first time in more than a week following a week of virtual sessions as a result of the COVID-19 incident, as the city of Los Angeles continues to cope with the fallout from the City Hall racism crisis.
Councilmen Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo have ignored widespread calls for resignation, including those from President Joe Biden and Governor Newsom, two weeks after the release of the leaked video of the conversation from October 2021 that includes racist statements and redistricting strategies.
