The cost of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increased 11.9 cents to $5.959 on Tuesday, the highest price since July.

The average price has gone up for 25 days in a row, according to AAA and Oil Price Information Service statistics. It has risen by 49.9 cents in the last week, 67.4 cents in the last month, and $1.549 in the last year.

According to Forbes, experts believe the increase may be the result of a scarcity, which is partly attributable to Russia's involvement in the conflict in Ukraine and continued threats to sever supply lines. If the Gulf of Mexico's oil production is harmed by Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in Cuba on Tuesday morning, things could become worse.
