In the midst of a terrible heat wave that has engulfed the area, hundreds of inhabitants were forced to leave as a fast-moving wildfire grew quickly over dried vegetation in Southern California on Monday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
According to Cal Fire, the Fairview Fire broke out about 2:00 p.m. local time and quickly burnt 2,000 acres, damaging at least seven buildings and destroying a number more close to the city of Hemet in Riverside County. As of Monday night, firefighters had roughly 5% of the fire contained.
According to KCBS, another person was rushed to a hospital with major burns to their arms, back, and face.
