More than two dozen female inmates at an Indiana jail say they were raped and assaulted by male inmates -- after a prison guard gave them the key to their cells...
A lawsuit filed in Clark County, IN claims that last October, a group of male inmates paid a guard $1,000 for a key to the women's wing. What followed was a "night of terror", where 28 women were "raped, assaulted, threatened and intimidated" while guards never came to their aid, despite the attack being visible on surveillance cameras.
Afterwards, the women say jail officials retaliated against them with lockdowns, confiscated property, and by keeping the lights on for 72 hours straight.
The guard accused in the suit, David Lowe, was arrested and is facing up to nine years in prison on multiple charges.
