The disgraced Uvalde schools Police Chief Pete Arredondo is now resigning from the Uvalde City Council...
Arredondo reportedly gave his resignation on Friday.
"After much consideration, it is in the best interest of the community to step down as a member of the City Council for District 3 to minimize further distractions," Arredondo said in his resignation letter.
Arredondo was sworn onto the City Council in May, after winning a city election earlier that month.
Many have criticized the Robb Elementary School shooting response and Arredondo, who was the on-scene commander of the response.
