According to a new report from Politico, President Biden apparently slammed reporters aboard Air Force One for their negative coverage about him.
During an apparent off the record conversation with a number of reporters aboard Air Force One, President Biden went off on reporters about recent negative coverage about him and his administration, first reported by Politico's "West Wing Playbook".
Biden criticized the White House press corps about "quality and tenor" of reports about his administration. Members of the press were apparently "surprised and intrigued" by the impromptu conversation with the President.
Over the last few months, Biden and his family have become increasingly frustrated with press coverage, the President believes he deserves more credit for the work that has been done on the job market and the economy during his Presidency.
Compared to other recent Presidency's, Biden has not given the media many opportunities to sit down for one on one interviews. He has not sat down for interviews with major outlets like the New York Times, Reuters, Associated Press, and the Washington Post since he took the title of President of the United States.
That being said though, President Biden sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" for one of his first one on one interviews in recent history.
The Jimmy Kimmel/Biden interview marks Biden's first interview in 100 days.
It was reported in May by NBC that President Biden was growing increasingly angry with his staff for walking back on many of his public statements. The President is worried that when his staff backtracks on things he has stated, it makes him look weak.
It seems like as more time passes, the more issues arise for Biden and his staff.
