A woman in Woodland Hills thought her small pets inside her home were safe until one night when a coyote made its way into her home through the doggie door. Julie Levine says she didn’t know she had an intruder until her rescue dogs started barking. Surveillance footage shows the coyote entering the home around 1 in the morning. The video shows the animal spent about three minutes inside the house.

Levine says:

“He walked along this ways as you see in the video, jumped down right about here the motion sensor lights came on and he found the dog door. I think he got three quarters the way down the hallway and kind of saw us perhaps and kind of realized what he was up against and kinda took off. I have beagles and that’s what the tracking was all about they got the scent in their nose and they just went crazy.”

She says she’s thankful the coyote didn’t get close to her dogs and she plans to take extra measures to make sure this never happens again.  For now...she says she’s keeping her dog door shut!
