Golfers in Washington kept things going even as a massive wildfire burned behind them. Brandon Crawford told Oregon Live:
“When we first started there was a fire maybe the size of a grocery store. By the end of hole two it was just crazy. The big one you’re seeing on the internet was on hole nine.”
Tamara and Mark Mayfield, who run the Beacon Rock Golf Course, said the photo was taken Monday evening. They added that there were about 100 people golfing and watching the fire on the other side of the Columbia River.
The blaze, dubbed the "Eagle Creek Fire," merged with the "Indian Creek Fire" earlier this week and has burned an estimated 30,929 acres.
