Deputy Robert French was killed on anniversary of parents’ death

Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Robert French was killed in a hotel shootout last week by a creep who benefited from AB 109.

He died exactly 10 years after his parents died in a plane crash in El Dorado County.

Deputy French, a 21-year veteran, was responding to reports of shots fired at the Ramada Inn hotel on Auburn Boulevard when he was fatally wounded by Thomas Daniel Littlecloud.

French kept shooting at Littlecloud, 32, even after he was shot. Littlecloud later died from his injuries from the shootout.

French's family have been mourning in private since his death. One of his sons, 30-year-old Nicholas French, told the Sacramento Bee:

“It’s been horrendous. Nobody wants to hear what we all had to hear.”

Nicholas French and his siblings got the news of their father's death exactly 10 years after the fatal plane crash that killed their grandparents:

“(My dad) called me and I knew there was something wrong because he was crying."

Robert French is remembered as a devoted street cop, who loved country music and the Dallas Cowboys. What a sad, awful story.

Thanks to California's backwards and evil policies, another good man is dead.
