From the LA Mirada Theater:

"Officer Keith Boyer’s surviving band mates from his band Mrs. Jones’ Revenge, are performing a special memorial rock concert recreating classic hits from the ‘60’s, ‘70’s and ‘80’s to honor Keith’s love for music and his community. A portion of the 605 Freeway has been named after Officer Keith Boyer, but it will take some time before the signs are installed.

Boyer was killed in a shootout while responding to a traffic collision in Whittier on February 20th. Now it's up to local officials to raise the money for the new signage, and the state Department of Transportation must determine the cost.

A.C.R. 76 was officially passed on Monday in the Senate with a vote of 71-0.

Assemblyman Ian Calderon (D-Industry), who wrote the legislation, said:

“Officer Boyer was a lifelong resident of Whittier who served in the Whittier Police Department for 27 years, but his life was tragically cut short. The Whittier community will remember him as a humble, compassionate and dedicated officer and loving father and grandfather,” he said. “I ask you to remember him by naming a freeway in his memory.”

The chunk of the 605 between the 5 freeway and the  Obregon Street overcrossing will now be called the  “Officer Keith Boyer Memorial Highway.”
