(Tyree McCoy and Joseph McInnis III - Baltimore Police Department)
21-year-old Joseph McInnis III and 22-year-old Tyree McCoy robbed a Maryland bar filled with dozens of off-duty cops who were celebrating an officer's retirement party.
WBAL-TV reports that the armed suspects went into the take-out part of Monaghan’s Pub in Woodlawn and held up an employee at gunpoint before taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Baltimore County Police Officer Jennifer Peach said:
“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery."
Some of the off-duty officers ran out of the party and nabbed the crooks. They were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun, and were held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Officer Peach added:
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police officers."
