Transgender Trump supporter planning Berkeley rally this weekend

The Bay Area is getting ready for all kinds of political rallies this weekend, and one of them is a so-called "No to Marxism" event put on by a transgender Trump supporter.

A permit request for the event had been received and denied by the Berkeley City Hall for technical reasons, and it's still not clear if the organizers will still move forward with the event.

Amber Cummings, a transgender woman and one of the people behind "anti-marxist" rally, appeared outside Berkeley City Hall earlier this week to address reporters' questions.

She said her event is not about hate speech or white supremacy:

“That is an outright lie that this mayor is propagating. White supremacy is not allowed at my rally. We do not want racist people there. We do not want hateful people there.”

She added:

"We also do not want violent people there. If anybody is coming with the intent of violence, do not come to my rally.”

Alameda County Sheriff Greg Ahern said the county is expecting thousands of people to come to Berkeley for dueling protests on the 27th:

"We expect extremist groups from all walks of life representing all different points of view. We’re going to do our best to keep the groups separate.”
