Marijuana, opioids, and alcohol could be causing sperm count decline

A recent study shows that sperm counts in men in Western countries have dropped by more than 50% in the last 40 years. The research was done at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine in Jerusalem and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan.

The study also revealed that the sperm plummet is not slowing down either.

So, what could be causing this spermpocalypse? Perhaps you smoke and drink too much. Tobacco affects the shape of sperm, and alcohol also affects its quality.

Urologist and fertility specialist Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt, from Orlando, thinks our sedentary lifestyle might also be contributing to the problem:

“If you’re not getting 150 minutes of moderate exercise every week. sperm counts will decline.”

But he added that too much exercise can also be a bad thing for sperm, so don't overdo it at the gym everyday.

What else might be contributing to the sperm drop? Skinny jeans, tight underwear, work stress, and junk food.

So get yourself some looser clothes, cut back the smoking and drinking, move a little more, and your sperm should be good to go!
