#ClearTheShelters Success!

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for indulging my 'KFI Pet Of The Day' posts to help push the NBC4 #ClearTheShelters event last month.

Your attention, sharing and adoptions resulted in more than 11,000 pet adoptions locally in LA and more than 136,000 nationally. This year there was also a Clear The Shelters national fund to help shelters across the country that raised more than $1.8 million. Thank you for your support!

I'm happy to say that many of the Pet of The Day animals I featured are now in their forever homes!

Even though the event is technically over, you can ALWAYS find adoptable pets in your area at your local shelters or via the PetHarbor website HERE.

Red is pictured above, he's a neutered male, tan and white smooth coated Chihuahua. He's a recent guest to Pasadena Humane, his ID number is A485871. Red is about 3-years-old and he's at the shelter because his owner became ill and couldn't care for him any longer.

Red is short for Real Enchanting Dog, and while he may start off a bit shy, once he gets to know you he will relax and be affectionate with you. He's housetrained and loves to play with his stuffed toys and chew bones. He tends to bond with one or two people and might get nervous around others, but shelter staff says there are no 'red flags' with Red, so make an appointment to come out and see him.

For more information about Red, CLICK HERE, or call Pasadena Humane at 626-792-7151.
